Prepared for Viva La Fresa Bakery & Café

What it would cost.

One page, no surprises, and no charge for the concept you have already been clicking through.

The build

$1,500

One time. Half to start, half when it goes live.

A site of pages is $1,000. The ordering system is what takes this one to $1,500.

  • Online ordering built into your own site, so nobody gets handed to a second website to buy a concha
  • Your menu on the ordering page, grouped into 8 sections the way the case is laid out, at your prices
  • A cart with a running total, and quantities somebody can change without starting over
  • A pickup time picker that already knows you open at seven, close at five, and that Monday is yours
  • Payment connected to the Square account you already take orders through, or to Stripe if you would rather. Deposits keep landing where they land now
  • The home page you have been clicking through, built out exactly as shown
  • Your photography set at full size and loaded before somebody scrolls to it
  • Built for a phone first, because a phone is where the ordering happens, then tablet, then desktop
  • Set up so Google can show your hours, address and star rating in the search result
  • Launched on vivalafresa.com, the domain you already own, and yours outright with no monthly fee attached to the build

Care plan, optional

$50 a month

Or $500 a year if you would rather pay once.

  • Hosting, security certificate and software updates handled
  • Backups, and monitoring so you know the site and the ordering are both up
  • Menu changes: seasonal drinks on, seasonal drinks off, price corrections
  • Thirty minutes a month of other changes, hours, photographs, holiday closures
  • A check in every quarter
  • No contract. Stop any time

If you would rather not have one, that is completely fine. The site is still yours and it still works. You would just handle the hosting and the menu updates yourself.

Already built and free to try

The ordering page in this concept is working right now, with all 44 items and your own prices on it. Put an order together on your phone and see how it feels before you decide anything. It stops before payment on purpose.

Try the ordering page
What running it yourself would involve

Genuinely an option, and I would rather you saw the whole picture before you decide.

What you would pay

  • Hosting, Vercel Pro$20 a month
  • Domain renewal, which you pay either wayAbout $20 a year
  • Code hosting and the security certificateNothing

What you would need to know

  • Editing the site's code without breaking it
  • Finding one item among the 44 that all sit in the same file
  • Knowing a stray character in a price is a real number at the counter
  • Pushing the change, then checking it actually went live

About twenty dollars a month in accounts, and the rest is time and know-how. Whichever way you go, I will hand over every account and walk whoever takes it through all of it at no charge.

How it goes

Four steps, about two weeks.

  1. 1

You say go, and send me your current price list. That is the part I need from you, and it is the part that holds everything else up.

  2. 2

You tell me whether the money lands in Square or in Stripe. If it is Square, it is the account you already run and nothing about your deposits changes.

  3. 3

I build it out, wire the ordering to that account, and point vivalafresa.com at it.

  4. 4

You put a real order through it on your own phone and watch it land at the counter. Your current site stays up until the moment you are happy.

The terms

Simple, and yours.

You own all of it
The site, the code, the menu, the photographs. If you ever want to take it somewhere else or hand it to someone else, you can, and I will help you do it.
The money is yours and stays yours
Card payments go straight into your own Square or Stripe account. I never sit between you and a customer's money, and I take no cut of an order.
No lock-in
The care plan is month to month and optional. Nothing about the build depends on you keeping it.
The concept is free
What you have been clicking through cost you nothing and comes with no obligation, whatever you decide.

A note from Kate

Somebody who wants a concha and a horchata latte taps Order Ahead on your site and lands on a second website to finish. That handoff is the whole reason I built the ordering page you can click through here. Same menu, same prices, your pickup window, and the money still goes to the Square account you already have.

The rest of it came out of looking at what you already own. Your photography is genuinely lovely and it only turns up after somebody scrolls and waits for it. That is a fixable thing, and it is quietly costing you people who never get as far as the menu.

Have a proper look and pick it apart. If it is not the direction you want, tell me and I will not be offended.
